Imagine the Possibilities

Les Schwab Tires could be first to develop on S. Townsend plot

A Les Schwab tire shop would be the first to be developed an undeveloped parcel of land if Montrose City Council approves to provide water and sewer connections to the area.

The 5.14-acre  parcel of land at 1910 S. Townsend Ave. includes three “pads” or sections available for development.

Les Schwab is ready to break ground on the first of those pads (about 1.4 acres), the one closest to Townsend, if the City approves of the water and sewer connections.

The land is located adjacent to Montrose County’s Health and Human Services on Montrose Drive and across Townsend from Big O Tires.

The Les Schwab Tire Center project is estimated to cost just north of $9.42 million. It is estimated to provide 10-12 full-time jobs.

The waterline project would cost somewhere around $330,000 to $350,000, and the city has received three bids.

Council will likely vote on those improvements at its next meeting.
