The Temple Events building, one of downtown Montrose’s most recognizable venues, is up for sale for just under $1 million.
The property, owned by Crystal Young, has hosted weddings, concerts, and community gatherings since she and her team renovated and reopened the historic structure several years ago. Property records show the building last sold in 2022 for $864,000, following a 2020 sale of $650,000.
Listing information shows the property at 401 N. Second St. is currently priced at $999,990.
Realtor Halley Combs said Young’s decision to sell is personal.
“She owns another business and recently became a grandmother,” Combs said. “She’s absolutely smitten and wants to spend as much time with her grandchild as possible.”
Combs added that although The Temple briefly paused bookings over the summer in anticipation of the sale, it remains active under new management.
“Crystal did put a pause on scheduling for a short while during summer in anticipation of selling,” Combs said. “But the venue is under new management and they have been scheduling new events.”
The Temple has become a fixture in downtown Montrose’s revitalization, offering a modern event space in a building with historic character.
Combs noted that interest in downtown commercial real estate remains steady, with multiple properties now on the market in the Main Street corridor.
