New expanded winter flight schedule for Montrose Regional Airport in 2026-'26

New expanded winter flight schedule for Montrose Regional Airport in 2026-'26

Travelers will have more ways to get to and from the Western Slope this winter. The Colorado Flights Alliance has released its 2025–2026 winter flight schedule for Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) and Telluride Regional Airport (TEX), showing new routes and more frequent service from several major airlines.

United Airlines will again offer the most routes, with nonstop service from Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. The airline is also adding more flights from Los Angeles, now five times a week instead of two.

American Airlines will continue its year-round Dallas/Fort Worth flights, operating up to three times daily, while Delta Air Lines will fly daily from Atlanta between Dec. 20 and March 29.

Southwest Airlines will continue flights from Austin, Dallas and Denver and is adding a new seasonal route from Nashville, flying Saturdays from March 7 through March 28. Breeze Airways will return with twice-weekly flights from Orange County starting Dec. 20, while Denver Air Connection will keep running its Denver-to-Telluride route year-round.

Many of these flights will continue through early April, with key routes like Dallas and Denver operating all year. The new schedule is designed to make it easier for visitors to reach Telluride and nearby destinations while giving locals more choices when flying out of Montrose.

Colorado Flights Alliance, which helps bring new air service to the region, says these routes support tourism and the local economy.

The group was behind Breeze Airways’ launch last winter, connecting the Western Slope directly with Southern California.

This winter’s schedule offers one of the widest selections of nonstop flights yet, with service beginning in mid-December and running through early April. Full details are available at coloradoflights.org.

Taxiway project nearing completion

Alongside expanded flight options, Montrose Regional Airport is making progress on a major taxiway resurfacing project.

Crews began laying fresh asphalt this week as the project nears completion, according to the airport. The improvements are part of ongoing upgrades
