DMEA candidates elected at annual meeting

The election for the Delta-Montrose Electric Association board came to an end Thursday night and resulted in two incumbents retaining their seats, as well as two newcomers winning their respective elections.

Ken Norris won 2,254 votes to represent DMEA's South Region, beating out incumbent Jock Fleming (1,280 votes) and Joseph Simo (1,200).

Jacob Gray, another incumbent, will also retain his seat for District 3 after handily defeating Demitri Stelter and Gary Hubbell (3,362 to Stelter's 409 and Hubbel's 1,031).

Emily Sanchez, with 3,107 votes also retained her seat in District 4, defeating Robert Hubbard (1,215) and Shelley Kelley (356).

DMEA’s board of directors is made up of nine members. The board is tasked with hiring a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to carry out the objectives of the board.

An election is held each year to determine representatives for three of DMEA’s nine board districts.
