Montrose is now home to a Fairfield by Marriott, the efforts of Lamont Companies.
The hotel opened in April.
The project obtained building and site permits in 2021, and was constructed using 54 completed modular building units, stacked and organized by heavy machinery.
The project is said to provide 20-30 new local jobs and 90 new hotel rooms, which the city in recent years has highlighted as a need for the community.
The project saw a delay of several months, partially due to weather and other factors, like parts that were delayed.
The project was completed, in part, thanks to incentives from the City of Montrose, like site improvements.
Lamont Companies has already begun putting together plans to build a second hotel at the Colorado Outdoors project, a Hilton Home2 Suites or similar brand, according to Jeff Lamont, at a February Montrose Urban Renewal Authority.

That project is estimated to provide around 20-30 jobs, as well. It would be located on a land parcel across from the Fairfield location.
That project would not break ground until at least 2025.
